CM Punk has instantly become a sensational phenomenon in the world of pro-wrestling once again. The 42-year old pro-wrestler and former UFC fighter is yet to debut on AEW, but fans can’t contain the anticipation.
Many figures from the world of pro-wrestling consider it a huge deal for Punk to come back. Paul Wight is one of such figures. The former Big Show recently appeared on SportsNation to talk about AEW. When asked about CM Punk, he didn’t confirm it, but gave a vaguely positive answer.
There’s an opportunity for someone to make an appearance on Rampage here at AEW that will literally knock the wrestling world on it’s keister. This is one of the biggest, I think, anticipated events that I can remember in a long time. I mean, I was trying to think about it today, like, what does it compare to? Does it compare to Hulk Hogan going to WCW? Does it compare to the nWo? Stone Cold Steve Austin and the glass breaking with Austin 3:16?
Wight definitely meant to convey that something big is going to happen. He said that if the rumors turned out to be true, what implications would it have on the future of pro-wrestling.
What kind of an impact, if the rumors are true, will this have on the wrestling business? Because I can neither confirm nor deny…but what kind of an impact tonight’s Rampage will have on the wrestling industry for the future.
CM Punk is most likely supposed to debut on AEW Rampage tonight. There is a lot of excitement for it, as Punk even got to troll his fans ahead of it. All eyes are on Punk, and hopefully his debut on AEW turns out to be one of the biggest highlights in pro-wrestling.
