WWE is bringing a big show to Las Vegas this weekend. Saturday will see the biggest party of the summer invade Allegiant Stadium, but the company wanted to make it a bit bigger with Mike Tyson. That did not work out as planned.

According to a report from PW Insider, WWE failed to book the Baddest Man on the Planet. They wanted him to do voiceover work for SummerSlam to open up the show for a video package, but that didn’t happen.

WWE plans called for Tyson to be the voiceover artist for opening video package for Saturday’s Summerslam PPV, which we are told will be built around WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. John Cena.

It is unclear why WWE was unsuccessful in booking Tyson, but he didn’t take the job for some reason. Tyson’s allegiance with AEW seems much stronger than his ties to WWE in recent memory, but it is unclear what the issue was in this instance.

Tyson has appeared on WWE programming, including a legendary match at WrestleMania XIV where he was special enforcer for Shawn Michaels vs “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. We’ll have to see if he ever makes a return to Vince McMahon’s company at this point.
