Seth Rollins’ time in promotions such as Ring Of Honor certainly helped him hone his craft before making his way to WWE. Rollins’ current obnoxious heel character never fails to annoy fans. On top of that, Rollins really doesn’t do scripted promos as such, just like Roman Reigns.
John Cena will square off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam. The match is certainly highly anticipated and both competitors have a very good chance of leaving the event as the champion.
Now it seems a former WWE Champion has his sights set on the winner of the match. While speaking to El Universal’s Luis Rodriguez on a WWE media call, Seth Rollins stated that he is going after the WWE Universal Championship after WWE SummerSlam, regardless of whether it will be Roman Reigns or John Cena.
“If you look at the SmackDown roster, I think once I move past Edge there’s not a whole lot left between me and Roman Reigns or me and John Cena, depending on who walks out of that match Saturday the champ. I definitely feel like I am, one way or another, going to be Universal Champion very soon, and I think beating Edge at SummerSlam, that would be sweet. It would be a feather in my cap, for sure, to kind of put him in his place and move on to the Universal title.”
Before he can think about going after Roman Reigns or John Cena, Seth Rollins has to contend with Edge at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. We will have to wait and see who will come out on top in the match.
