Roman Reigns comes from a very famous pro wrestling family that includes Rosey, Rikishi, Umaga, Yokozuna, The Usos, Nia Jax, the Wild Samoans and many more. The Anoa’i Family are very tight, and pro wrestling runs in their bloodline as well. The Rock is a part of that lineage, and he might even come back to WWE for a short deal with Roman Reigns, but their relationship had to start somewhere.

While speaking to Out Of Character, Roman Reigns discussed coming from the famous. Anoa’i family. He also went into how he first met Dwayne Johnson, a man that the world would eventually know as the most electrifying sports entertainer in history.

“I think it was Biloxi, Mississippi, and this is when Dwayne had just started turning into ‘The Rock’ and starting to display that persona. I was young, like early teens, and I was with the twins, The Usos, and a younger brother who was about a year and a half younger than them. We’re just kind of walking out of catering, and here comes Dwayne, and man, he was just super nice. This is the first time I think I have ever met him. [He] Kind of real loud and just a huge ‘Hello’, and a big hug.”

Reigns the said, “From the very beginning, he was family.” It seems that family will always be held in a great place of importance for the Tribal Chief.

The rumor at the time was that WWE didn’t pull Jimmy Uso from television after his DUI because he is factored into plans that the company has for The Rock. We’ll have to see what happens in the months to come, but a WrestleMania match between The Rock and Roman Reigns is still on the wish list for many fans.
