Goldberg is set to take on Bobby Lashley with the WWE Title on the line at SummerSlam, and many fans are wondering how that match will go down. The former Universal Champion has quite a part-time schedule with WWE, one that Bobby Lashley himself envies, but Goldberg won’t be around for much longer.
During an appearance on WWE The Bump, Goldberg said that he’s not rooting for John Cena or Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, because neither of them have faced him yet. Then he provided a very interesting detail about his current WWE status. He revealed that there are only two matches left in his current deal with Vince McMahon’s company.
“I’d love a piece of Roman Reigns and I think even more so would I love to get my hands around Cena’s throat, but it’s wishful thinking. We’ll see. Let’s take care of Bobby Lashley first. Hey, I’ve only got two more matches on my deal here, so we’ll see what happens.”
Goldberg’s time in WWE might be up sooner than some first thought. WWE signed him to a very limited contract that is running out. We’ll have to see if Vince McMahon opens up his checkbook once again to lock Goldberg into more matches. At this point, he apparently only has one more match left after SummerSlam. Who’s next?
