Keith Lee is an active member of the WWE roster once again, but he has worked several dark matches in recent memory. There is a reason for that, and it has a lot to do with the time he spent away from the ring.

The Limitless Lee revealed in a candid video message that he suffered from heart inflammation after a bout with COVID-19. He had to fight for his life and now he is back in the ring. According to PW Insider, WWE has a reason for keeping him on dark matches.

According to the report, WWE is designing shorter squash matches for Keith Lee as a way to “refine” him and determine what works best for him.

[Dark Matches are] designed as being short squashes for Lee, have taken place as a way to refine Lee and decide what works best for him going forward.

We’ll have to see what WWE does with Keith Lee in the future. They are obviously trying to figure out something for him for something down the line. Hopefully, they are grooming him for greatness, because he already has limitless potential.
