Roman Reigns is on a roll roll since his return to the company back at WWE SummerSlam last year. He returned as the Tribal Chief and truly reinvented himself. The change was several years in the making as fans clamored for it for so long.
Roman Reigns has certainly been very dominant as the WWE Universal Champion and has been the champion for almost a year now and it is unlikely he will be losing the title anytime soon from the looks of it.
While speaking on the Out of Character podcast, Roman Reigns talked about his run as the WWE Universal Champion while bragging that he made the title the most important in sports entertainment.
“Just right off the bat, obviously, if I don’t beat him (Cena) I lose the Universal Championship. And that throws a huge wrench in the game plan with what we’re trying to do going forward. And I think also what’s special about this run that I’m on and the stories that I’ve told is that in just under a year now, I have made the Universal Championship the most important championship in WWE and the most important championship in sports entertainment.”
Roman Reigns is set to defend his title against John Cena at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21st. We will have to wait and see if he will be able to successfully retain the title or not. The big question is whether Roman Reigns is correct in his boasting.
