CM Punk loves churning the rumor mill and his name is coming up more than ever right now. The idea is that he is on his way to AEW and the company hasn’t shied away from showing fans chanting “CM PUNK” in their crowd. The United Center will be packed this Friday for Rampage and many fans are expecting to see Punk’s debut for Tony Khan’s company.
Ringside News exclusively reported that CM Punk inked a deal with AEW. He is also slated to wrestled 10 to 12 times per year. Tony Khan isn’t talking about it, but that won’t stop Punk from having a lot of fun with the idea.
DeAndre “The Protégé” Anderson tweeted out a selfie with CM Punk. He was very happy to have that photo and captioned it with: “Got my pic with CM Punk.” Both men had smiles on their faces, but fans noticed a lot more.
Punk was seen wearing a Bulls jersey pin on his suitcoat with the number “XX,” which is a Roman numeral for 20. This was not lost on many fans, because AEW Rampage is in the United Center this week, the Chicago Bulls’ home court. Obviously this was another apparent tease that Punk is All Elite.
CM Punk left little to the imagination when he straight-up said “All Elite” during his commentary gig at the event. We’ll have to see what happens on Friday, but plenty of fans are eagerly awaiting a big moment with the Second City Savior’s return to pro wrestling on August 20th.
