WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has no plans to drop his title any time soon. He is set to take on Goldberg at SummerSlam in a match that few fans thought would be possible. Lashley has been a very dominant champion since winning the title from The Miz.
The upcoming match between Bobby Lashley and WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg is not something most fans are excited about, mostly due to Goldberg being quite old and undeserving of a WWE Title shot in the first place.
It seems the match in question has some historical significance to it. After crunching the numbers, fans noticed that Lashley is 45 years of age and Goldberg is 54. Those numbers added together equal 99. The match will have the second-highest combined age for any WWE Title match in history.
The first position for oldest combined age in a WWE Title match belongs to Hulk Hogan, who was 48 at the time and Ric Flair who was 53. So, they hold the record at a combined age of 101. The two competed in a WWE Title match in May 2002. When you look at the numbers, it’s not Steiner math.
We will have to wait and see just how the feud between Bobby Lashley and Goldberg is booked as we approach the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21st. Maybe the two can run it again in a few years and break that record Hogan and Flair set.
