Update: After speaking with Fuego Del Sol, he has stated that his contract was actually offered that night on AEW Rampage. We apologize for any misunderstanding.
Original: AEW aired their debut episode of Rampage this week and Tony Khan’s company did not disappointed. They presented three matches and each of those told a unique story. Fuego Del Sol wrestled Miro for the TNT Title, and if he won then a full-time AEW deal would be his. He was unable to win the TNT Title in that match, but he still received his AEW contract when everything was said and done.
Sammy Guevara came out and hugged Tony Khan a couple of times at the entrance before the AEW President handed The Spanish God a contract. Then Guevara brought that deal to his best friend Fuego for a very emotional moment in the ring.
Ringside News was told that Fuego Del Sol actually inked his AEW contract weeks ago. He knew that the deal was done despite losing his match to Miro. Fuego still pulled off an incredibly emotional performance in Pittsburgh.
Fuego Del Sol has a losing record on AEW television, but that didn’t stop his drive. He continued to grind and make the most of everything that was given to him. In the end, all that hard work paid off in a big way.
Sammy Guevara and Fuego Del Sol are legit best friends in real life, so that moment was real. The contract Guevara had in his hands was a prop, because Fuego already signed his real contract some time ago.
