CM Punk is on his way to AEW, and everyone knows it. The company isn’t copping to his signing yet, and Punk played dumb about Darby Allin’s “best in the world” comment. It’s only a matter of time before fans see him in the ring again. That begs the question of how much he will compete for All Elite Wrestling.
We exclusively reported that CM Punk inked a deal with AEW and he will be on the company’s television programming “nearly every week.” He will also compete in the ring and we have new information about that arrangement.
Ringside News has learned that CM Punk will wrestle for AEW “10 to 12” times a year. That is the current deal, but he could always agree to wrestle more often. Punk generally does what he wants to do.
CM Punk received a ton of praise as he trained for the Starz show Heels. Some said it was like he never left the ring. He has been using a ring at Pro Wrestling Tees’ Chicago brick-and-mortar store and never allowed himself to really get “ring rust.”
The current betting odds for CM Punk’s first opponent are incredibly interesting, because Bryan Danielson tops the list. We will have to see what Tony Khan’s company does with the Second City Savior, but he will be much more active than some thought at first.
