Former WWE NXT Superstar Bronson Reed was one of many releases from the black and gold brand last week. After his firing, he made sure to let everyone know that he wasn’t a fan of this week’s episode of NXT.
For the past few months, WWE has been releasing several talents from their contracts, and till now 52 Superstars have been released from the company. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, more details regarding the reason behind Reed getting released were given.
Vince McMahon “decided against” calling up Reed to the main roster after watching him during his many ‘tryout’ matches before possibly being called up to the main roster. Ultimately Vince McMahon saw no use in keeping Bronson Reed around if Reed wasn’t going to be on the main roster, ultimately leading to his release.
Those internally said that when Reed got his tryout matches in recent weeks, that McMahon decided against him, and felt due that if he’s not going to be on the main roster, what is the point of keeping him.
Bronson Reed also recently called out TNT Champion Miro, signaling his intentions. Reed, now Jonah Rock, likely has a 30 day non-compete clause with WWE after his release, so we could see him again very soon and that could just be in AEW.
