WWE changed directions for NXT in a big way in recent memory. This new vision from Vince McMahon includes a big shift in what kind of signee they are looking for. Many looked at WWE passing on Wheeler Yuta as a big first sign that things were changing, and Triple H is reportedly getting the blame.

We previously noted that Triple H is taking flack for losing the Wednesday Night War against AEW. This was followed by a drastic change in the brand.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Triple H is also taking a bit of grief for stockpiling NXT talent in NXT. This came during WWE’s big hiring surge as they tried to keep talent away from AEW. Some of those wrestlers already had main roster potential.

The idea is that Levesque had stocked NXT with too many wrestlers who had no main roster potential, in his being quick to sign independent talent as fast as possible if they showed potential, to stockpile and keep from AEW.

The black and gold brand is likely to see even more changes as time goes by. Many more releases are reportedly coming as well, and tensions are very high around the Performance Center as well. We’ll have to see what happens in the future, but NXT is set to get a rebranding as part of this massive change.
