Riho made her return to AEW television after spending a majority of the pandemic in Japan. She could not travel back to the United States, but she relocated to the USA. The first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion vanished from television after that, but there is a reason for this disappearance.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Riho took the COVID-19 vaccine and suffered a “bad reaction.” The vaccine is incredibly valuable to fight the spread of COVID-19, but it isn’t without side effects. Those setbacks apparently kept Riho from action.

Riho has been out of action for a month due to having a bad reaction to the vaccine but she’s feeling better and should be returning soon

We’re hoping that Riho can return to AEW very soon, because she is missed on their roster. The company is trying hard to build up their women’s division, and a person like Riho brings much-needed veteran experience to the table. AEW is also reportedly bringing in Ruby Riott, now Ruby Soho, and a Soho vs Riho match has a ton of possibilities as well.
