Keith Lee vanished from WWE television as he was pulled from the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. He was set to win the United States Title at that event, but they nixed him from the match without any reason given. Riddle ended up with the US Title by the end of the night instead, because Bobby Lashley needed to drop that title to become WWE Champion. Keith Lee teased for a while that he will provide answers, and that day finally came.
The Limitless Lee posted a lengthy YouTube video to explain what happened in his life from January to his eventual WWE return. That was a long time to sit on the sidelines, and his fans were starting to worry about his apparent radio silence.
Lee posted a YouTube video on Twitter with a description reading: “The first recording of this went over 13 minutes…..so I said and detailed far less, but I said enough.” He was able to cut things down by around 4 minutes.
He admitted to contracting COVID which is why he missed a few weeks in January. Then he addressed the terrible comments that fans made toward Mia Yim, and he cleared that up by saying: “Were it not for her, I don’t know how things would have gone. I contracted COVID, she did not.” He said that the only reason she did contract COVID was because she refused to leave his side. Sadly, that cost her a spot in the Royal Rumble match.
Keith Lee returned for one match against Matt Riddle, and then he received a call that there was something wrong with his bloodwork. His heart had something wrong with it, and he was prohibited from doing any physical exercise. “There was a fear that doing any of that, I could just up and pass away.”
He received several MRIs, and he started “a fight against death.” Then WWE sent him to Pittsburgh to get looked at, and he almost had to undergo genetic testing. “It was thought that there was a potential that I could have a heart disease of sorts.” The inflammation in his heart eventually went down to normal. After that, he was cleared to “try and get back in some sort of shape.”
This was a revealing video and Keith Lee admitted that his return to the ring was never a certainty. He thanked his supporters and said “at the end of the day I don’t really know what’s next. The idea for me is I fought the battle that mattered the most and I’m healthy.”
Keith Lee is now fighting to do the most that he can in the pro wrestling industry, and that fight will continue. You can check out the video below to hear his entire story.
