CM Punk is on his was to AEW, but he’s not copping to it yet. As Ringside News exclusively reported, Punk inked a deal with the company and he will be at a Chicago show. We’ll just have to see what he ends up doing, but it’s going to be the most surprises moment he can make it. Darby Allin also seemingly called out Punk, and the Second City Savior noticed.
Darby Allin vs CM Punk very well could be a match at All Out, but that is speculation based on the former TNT Champion saying he wants to face “the best in the world.” Fans were able to make a natural connection between that comment and Punk.
Punk recently spoke to Sunday Night’s Main Event where Darby Allin’s comments came up. He didn’t outright deny that Allin was referencing him, but CM Punk also brought Daniel Bryan’s name into the conversation which was a very interesting diversion.
“Best in the World, that could be anybody. That’s (Daniel) Bryan, right? That’s my assumption. I hear ‘Best in the World,’ I think Bryan.”
“I think Darby Allin is great. Everybody in the wrestling world needs to never do a dive again because you can’t do it better than Darby. If you watch Darby wrestle, he looks like he’s trying to murder somebody. It doesn’t get any better than that. Stop doing dives, everybody.”
Interestingly enough, Daniel Bryan and Darby Allin both top a list of most likely first opponent for CM Punk in AEW.
It was previously reported that Bryan Danielson signed a deal with AEW, but those plans for his debut were altered a bit due to CM Punk coming into the picture. AEW has a few huge moments in store for the future, and those insane pops will be here before fans know it.
