AEW strives to provide a proper alternative product to WWE. For the most part, they have succeeded but there are still many areas of improvement. Tony Khan’s company still has big plans.

Tony Khan’s company took the world by storm back in 2019 as it was the first pro wrestling company in a very long time that made waves in the pro wrestling world as a form of competition for WWE. It was certainly a risky endeavor, because there was always the chance it was going to end up being a huge failure.

It cannot be denied that AEW certainly has a lot of buzz thanks to the likely arrival of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Ringside News exclusively reported that Punk signed with AEW.

That hype only adds to garnering some of the best ratings in the past month. On top of that, AEW Rampage will debut on August 13th. That second A-Show is likely to carry forward with the momentum the company has right now.

Now it seems the company has big things in store for AEW Rampage. While speaking Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan talked about the upcoming plans, and he claimed that the Houston episode of the show will feature two great UFC champions. Dan Lambert of American Top Team was also moved to August 18th.

”Dan and his guys, the more I talk to them, the more I looked at this. I’m gonna have Dan and his guys come next week. If they want to tear into us, they can tear into us. I gotta address the Rampage premiere. We got a lot of things to do and I know Dan wants to antagonize wrestling and Dan wants to talk about how wrestling used to be better and real men and so forth and I’d love to hear that. He’s gonna bring big backup in the form of not just one UFC Champion but two great UFC Champions. I’m very excited for it. If he wants to say all that, I’m totally game for it but not this week as I got to launch Rampage. We have a lot to do and I told him why don’t you bring your guys to Houston next week? So that’s what we’re gonna do. Dan’s gonna come to Houston. I’ll give him the time to say what he wants to say. By then I think Rampage will have been established, we will have entered the Rampage era.”

There is no doubt that AEW is currently one of the most talked-about pro wrestling companies in the world and depending on how they execute certain things in the coming weeks, the company could very well change the landscape of pro wrestling as we have known it, for good.
