WWE Announces Semifinal Match In Breakout Tournament For NXT Tonight

WWE’s NXT brand is preparing for another show this week amid plenty of reports about the black and gold brand going through changes. Tensions are reportedly high at the Performance Center as Triple H and other NXT higher-ups figure out what they are going to present this week on the USA Network. They only have a few items announced, but a match was recently added to the mix.

WWE confirmed that Odyssey Jones will take on Trey Baxter in the Semifinals of the 2021 Breakout Tournament. Jones has worked plenty of dark matches prior to main roster television shows, so he could be in line for a call-up to RAW or SmackDown soon enough.

Karrion Kross and Samoa Joe are set for a battle at NXT TakeOver: 36 on August 22nd. The black and gold brand will provide a “special look” into that feud during tonight’s show. We’re not sure what that entails, but it will likely be a video package.

Ember Moon vs Sarray will also take place this week on NXT. Ilja Dragunov will also be in action, but his opponent was not announced.

Raquel Gonzalez will also speak out after Dakota Kai turned on her during last week’s show. Their match for the NXT Women’s Title was already booked for TakeOver: 36, so Raquel could have a lot to say.
