Leon Ruff Reacts To WWE NXT Release

Leon Ruff was released from his WWE NXT contract along with eleven others and a seasoned referee. This was shocking news as the company continues to trim the bottom line. It took a bit of time for Ruff to collect his thoughts, but he opened up on Twitter the next afternoon.

The former NXT North American Champion tweeted out a photo of himself and his fiancé, WWE NXT referee Aja Smith. He caption was grateful for giving him an experience he won’t forget. He will continue working to be the best everyday despite this setback.

I was able to compete against and earn respect from wrestlers I looked up to. Make an impact in/and inspire the wwe universe. And everyday I got to go to work with my best friend Thank you all for the love -Leon

Leon Ruff is likely to receive an open welcome home back to the indie wrestling scene. This release was unexpected, and more shocking releases are likely coming. A recent report sadly stated that regular releases will become the norm for Vince McMahon’s company.

Hopefully, Leon Ruff goes on to do big things. His time in WWE NXT is over for now.
