Adam Cole’s time in WWE could be coming to a close. His contract expired in July, but the company got him to stick around until SummerSlam. Time keeps going, but Adam Cole is reportedly nowhere closer to inking a longer deal.

Cole’s contract situation could have led to the firing of a top WWE executive as well.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Adam Cole has not been offered a long term deal yet. There is a plan to extend a longer deal, but that has not happened yet. We will have to see how this transpires in the weeks to come.

WWE sources confirmed that Cole has not formally been offered a full on, new contract by WWE as of yet, but were told “it’s obviously planned” by a person of influence within WWE.

Adam Cole and higher-ups in NXT have a “great relationship,” but business is business. It is interesting that they haven’t locked him into any substantial at this juncture. They were able to get Cole to stick around until SummerSlam, but that new arrangement won’t last long.

It should be noted that Britt Baker would be happy for Adam Cole no matter whether he leaves for AEW or stays in WWE.
