WWE saw many chants from the Chicago crowd last night as shouts of “CM Punk” and “We Want Wyatt” could be heard from those fans. The company is used to controlling fan reactions through the ThunderDome and they didn’t stop piping in fabricated reactions when they went on the road.

The crowd noise didn’t seem to match what was really going on at times during this week’s red brand show. Michael Cole’s voice could be heard during Drew McIntyre’s entrance saying “16-time world champion” while Jimmy Smith was speaking.

It was not intentional for Michael Cole to be heard saying “16-time world champion” during that spot. They used audio from a SummerSlam commercial and they didn’t mean to pipe in the noise. In essence, it was a production flub and they didn’t mean to mix-up the audio.

It appears that WWE will keep trying to sweeten the crowd noise, even when there is an arena full of fans to give them an organic reaction. It will be interesting to see if this kind of thing happens again in the future. You can check out the audio botch in the video below.
