AEW announced a huge show on August 20th for Chicago’s United Center, and that revelation was quickly filled with “CM Punk” chants from the Charlotte crowd. The camera even zoomed in on some fans chanting for the Second City Savior, so the message was sent loud and clear. CM Punk is on his way to AEW.

Ringside News was first to report that AEW was looking at the United Center. The company is also making plans for a UK trip, and you can click here for that information.

Fans wasted zero time acquiring tickets for the United Center show. As we previously reported the pre-sale sold tremendously well, with over 11,000 tickets going in rapid fashion.

WrestleTix, who has been keeping a close eye on all pro wrestling ticket sales, reported that only 1,020 tickets were available by the time they went on sale to the general public. Most of those tickets were in the 200 section, and they sold almost immediately.

In 5 minutes they are all gone (some could re-emerge if someone doesn’t complete transaction).

AEW might open up a few more seats once they figure out how much space they will need for production. Any tickets they can free up will likely get snatched in record time as well.

CM Punk has not been confirmed for The First Dance show on August 20th, but he has been heavily implied. Bodyslam.net reported that he is 100% for a Chicago show, but they didn’t mention which show he will be at. Ringside News has also confirmed that CM Punk signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling. Tony Khan has also declined to publicly comment when asked about CM Punk and Bryan Danielson coming in.
