Adam Cole Trends On Social Media After News Of WWE Contract Expiration

Adam Cole could be leaving WWE sooner than anyone previously expected. A new report says that his deal is up, or it is close to expiring. It is unknown if a new deal has been signed. This caused quite a reaction within the Internet Wrestling Community.

We previously covered how there is a belief that Adam Cole’s WWE contract expired in July, but according to Fightful Cole “expressed to WWE that he was willing to work through Summerslam weekend and re-evaluate things.” That leaves a lot of very interesting possibilities.

Cole’s name trended in a big way when the news broke about his contract status. Many fans threw out AEW references and jokes were also made about how he is going to be reincarnated on Being The Elite. His character was killed off of that weekly YouTube show..

Fans have reason to believe that Adam Cole might go to AEW. He is great friends with the EVPs of the company. He is also dating current AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker. Cole has also been at AEW functions such as Christmas and New Year’s parties, just to name a few.

Jokes are also being made about how Adam Cole is the “third man” after CM Punk and Bryan Danielson join AEW. That is an obvious reference to the NWO’s third man storyline.
