Braun Strowman was cut from his WWE contract, and he had a very large salary with the company. He was pulling in a reported $1.2 million a year, but that didn’t work in a climate where WWE President Nick Khan is in a never ending quest to trim the company’s bottom line.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melter discussed WWE’s recent cuts. Braun Strowman’s name came up and it was said that the company is interested in bringing him back, but that $1.2 million per year deal isn’t going to happen again.

“They’re interested in having Strowman back at a lower price, but who knows what things will happen. I guess he’s signed up to do a show in Qatar, so he’s doing some indies, so he’ll get a big payday off that.”

It was also noted that WWE couldn’t use Braun Strowman in the same way that they were the moment Omos and Commander Aziz came into the picture. Strowman was no longer the biggest man around, so his Monster Among Men gimmick didn’t cut it anymore.

Well have to see if Braun Strowman pulls any more indie bookings at $20k a piece, plus two days’ accommodations and travel. That show he booked in Qatar is for February 2022, so he has a bit of waiting until that event comes around.
