Bray Wyatt was released from WWE, and this was a huge shock for fans. He was gearing up for his return, because he was just cleared to come back due to medical reasons.

Many within the pro wrestling world are waiting to see what’s next for Wyatt. The company never brought him back to television following his WrestleMania run. His final television appearance was on the RAW after WrestleMania where he expressed excitement over starting fresh.

Ringside News exclusively reported that Wyatt was listed as “medical” for the reason for his hiatus. This was confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio by Dave Meltzer as he expanded on WWE’s reason for not bringing Wyatt back to television.

“He had been out for medical reasons and he had just gotten cleared. Then when he got cleared they evaluated the situation and he was told that due to budgetary reasons that he’s being cut. The basic gist is that he’s another high contract guy, whether it’s because it’s concerns over the medical reasons is the real reason or they could not come up with an idea to justify his salary, I don’t know which of that it is, but that’s the basic deal with him.”

We previously reported that Bray Wyatt was also a bit frustrated with his character in WWE. Creative changed up his character’s direction and he had also become protective of that gimmick he worked so hard to create.

Wyatt’s release was not requested, because he was apparently a victim of budget cuts as the company continues their quest to trim the bottom line.
