Miro made his debut in AEW last year and there were a lot of expectations from him as he had proven to be a great performer. Miro finally lived up to his potential after defeating Darby Allin for the TNT Championship. Since then he has been booked as a very strong champion.
On this week’s episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, Lee Johnson defeated Luther in a singles match. After that, Miro came out and stated that Lee Johnson’s last opponent was picked by fans, and his next opponent will be picked by God.
Miro then chose Lee Johnson as his next challenger or his TNT Championship, with the match set to take place at AEW Homecoming on August 4th.
This will mark Miro’s fifth title defence as he has defeated the likes of Brian Pillman Jr, Lance Archer, Evil Uno and Dante Martin. We will have to wait and see if Miro will decimate Johnson or not.
Here is the current card for AEW Homecoming:
Miro (c) vs. Lee Johnson
Malakai Black vs. Cody Rhodes
