CM Punk is reportedly thinking about a return to pro wrestling, and AEW is the most likely landing pad. They are not the only company who could benefit from his services.

According to a report from Fightful Select, ROH also made overtures toward the Second City Savior to bring him back. Obviously, he declined the offer, but it would have been very interesting.

It is reported that in January 2020, ROH, and “specifically Marty Scurll,” sent out feelers to CM Punk. The conversations didn’t go very far at all, but there was interest from ROH’s side and they tried to bring him in.

Another interesting note is that the report stated that the general idea was “opponents and general plans were more important than dollars offered” for CM Punk.

We will have to see if CM Punk finally makes his return to pro wrestling AEW could use his name to generate a lot of interest, especially if he is competing for them. The big question is how much involvement CM Punk will have with AEW’s product if they can secure him to a deal.
