The September 17th SmackDown in Atlanta, Georgia was cancelled. They did not report an official reason, but it was likely due to ticket sales. F4WOnline reports that they had only sold around 1,700 tickets as of last week. It was noted that low ticket sale result was the likely reason that they pulled the event.
PW Insider reports that Knoxville, Tennessee will now host the event. That town will turn out for Bianca Belair as she is a hometown hero. It wouldn’t be a big surprise to see her featured in a big way whenever they roll into Knoxville.
Fans tuned in and broke 2 million viewers for SmackDown last week. We can only hope that RAW will bring a large viewership as well. The company is bringing back bigger names for a reason, and getting fans in those seats is a big reason for it.
WWE might have a ton of interest now as live fans return, but it might not be very long before Wrestling Twitter is flooded with photos of half-full arenas during WWE RAW once again.
