WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross is a veteran in the pro wrestling world, as he made a name for himself being a commentator in WWE and delivering some of the most iconic moments in the history of pro wrestling.

The current WWE product has a lot of flaws including 50/50 booking, feuds that don’t go anywhere, teams splitting up for no reason and storylines not making sense. All of this has led to fans simply being tired of the company and the disinterest of the fans is reflected in the dwindling ratings of both main roster shows over the past few years.

Bizarre storylines such as the zombies at WrestleMania Backlash were not received well either. While speaking on his Grilling JR Podcast, Jim Ross criticized WWE’s bizarre storylines including the zombies at WrestleMania Backlash and hypnosis storylines prevalent on WWE television. He stated that they are weak excuses for entertainment.

“It seems to me like in today’s world of pro wrestling, the reality-based stuff is hitting a cord more than the fantasy stuff. Hypnotizing people, zombies. Everything for the name and sake of entertainment is a weak ass excuse. ‘Oh, we’re just trying to entertain the audience,’ that’s such a p**** way out of it. Keep drinking that kool-aid buddy, save your money. It’s just not the way to engulf an audience, the audience has got to relate to something and every character that you put on television.”

WWE is ultimately a business in the end and they will do whatever will earn them the most money, regardless of whether fans would actually enjoy the storylines or not.
