Buddy Murphy was released from WWE and many fans were surprised to see them cut such a talented performer. He wasn’t being used and that ultimately led to him being let go. It might not be very long at all before he makes an appearance elsewhere.
Murphy is still under a 90-day non-compete clause with WWE, so he can’t sign anywhere else yet. The company will continue paying him his downside guarantee in the meantime. We previously reported that Impact Wrestling is interested in the former Disciple of Seth Rollins, but they are not alone.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that AEW is interested in Murphy’s services as well.
“I know [Impact Wrestling] is after Buddy Murphy and AEW is as well,” Meltzer confirmed. Murphy could be a very popular free agent very soon.
We’ll have to see what he decides to do next in his career. Both AEW and Impact Wrestling could offer Murphy some great matches and an opportunity to prove himself. The choice might be up to Murphy at this point, and that is a great spot to be in.
