Why Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley Isn’t Happening

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley is one of the most legitimate athletes to have competed in the world of both MMA and pro wrestling. For a long time now Lashley has made it clear he wants to face off against Brock Lesnar in any way possible.

For a very long time fans have wanted nothing more than for the two behemoths to finally square off inside the squared circle. Lashley still wants to face the Beast right now.

For a long time now there have been rumors that Brock Lesnar will finally be returning to the company. However, those rumors have been debunked on multiple occasions.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar isn’t happening due to a future potential feud between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.

The Lesnar match was talked about a lot but constantly denied. The feeling was that Lesnar isn’t coming back for a number of shows right now, so he’d have to lose. And those in the Reigns camp see Reigns vs. Lesnar with the Heyman history as a big program not to be weakened by Lesnar doing a job or doing a non-finish with Lashley right now. Like I’ve said before, in 1985 that would be how I’d see it, but today I don’t see a Lesnar loss to Lashley this year, hurting a 2023 program with Reigns vs. Lesnar.

As we exclusively reported earlier, the company has no plans for Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE television anytime soon. While Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar would certainly be a dream match, WWE doesn’t see it that way. We certainly hope the two eventually get to face each other as fans certainly want that to happen.
