Buddy Murphy dropped a big tease about his pro wrestling future recently and fans might see him after that 8.31.21 date he teased so boldly. It’s unclear if AEW is interested, but Impact Wrestling sure is.
Following his release, Murphy has spoken about his time in WWE with fondness, and criticism. Obviously, he wanted more out of his WWE tenure than that. It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Impact Wrestling is making a “major play” for the former WWE Superstar.
Don’t know anything regarding AEW, but do know that Impact is making a major play for the former Murphy.
Murphy has a lot of possibilities in the pro wrestling world. He could even realign with former NXT Tag Team Champion Wesley Blake and re-form their team outside of WWE. This is an interesting situation, and Impact Wrestling apparently wants in.
We will have to see when Murphy shows up next, but Slammiversary might be a bit too early. He is still under a 90-day non-compete clause at this time.
