WWE has needed to postpone their programming for a variety of other live sports. Dog Shows were even a yearly issue back in the day. The Summer Olympics only come around once every four years, so WWE won’t have to worry about this issue again for a while.
We previously reported that NXT is going to be on Syfy for at least one week due to Olympic coverage. It turns out that they are going to be on Syfy for two weeks. PW Insider reports that July 27th and August 3rd’s episode of NXT will not be on the USA Network. Fans will have to find Syfy on the channel guide if they want to watch.
The 7/27 and 8/3 episode of WWE NXT will each be broadcast on Syfy due to the Olympics airing on the USA Network.
As reported by Fightful Select, the July 27th episode will be live, but they are planning to tape the August 3rd episode on July 28th. It was not noted why this change was made to their taping schedule.
As of this writing, the Summer Olympics will not affect WWE RAW’s time slot on Mondays on USA Network. We will keep you posted in case they announce something on a Monay.
What’s your take on NXT changing channels for two weeks? Will it destroy viewership? Sound off in the comments!
