Edge is set to take on Roman Reigns with the Universal Title on the line at Money in the Bank. He doesn’t seem too worried about what will happen even if he cannot pull down the big title from the Tribal Chief.
Following his return at the Royal Rumble last year, Edge made a point to prove that his true grit still remains. He will have another chance to show that on Sunday at Money in the Bank and he’s spent 30 years building himself up to this point.
While on WWE The Bump, Edge was asked about any worries he has about Money in the Bank. The Rated R Superstar explained that he’s been through so much in his WWE career that his character is “bulletproof” at this point.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I’ve taken chokeslams from The Undertaker. I’ve lost handicap matches to Steve Blackman in three minutes on Monday Night RAW. There’s one thing about the character of Edge, he’s a tennis ball and keeps bouncing back. The character Edge is bulletproof. He’s bulletproof and that’s been through a lot of hard work over the years to make sure, at least, when you see Edge it’s compelling television.”
Edge received one of the largest pops of the night at WrestleMania. He will likely receive a hero’s ovation when he makes his way to the ring at Money in the Bank. Only time will tell how things will turn out, but Edge is not worried about losing his spot.
As of right now, the plans is for Edge to face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Roman Reigns is “locked in” to face John Cena as well, so both competitors already have big matches in the pipeline. The big question is who will be Universal Champion when the biggest party of the summer rolls around.
