We are very sad to learn about the passing of “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff. He was 71-years-old at the time of his passing.

Orndorff made headlines recently when his son released video footage of his father from the hospital. He was suffering from late stages of dementia and the pro wrestling world sent out a ton of well wishes that the legend would make a turn for the better. Sadly, he passed away as confirmed by his son Travis on Instagram.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. . He is better known as “Mr. #1derful” Paul Orndorff. Most of you will remember him for his physique. Many will remember his intensity. But if I could only get you to understand and see his heart. He will always be Pop, Paw Paw, and Daddy at home. And as much as many of you hated him as a wrestler, he absolutely loved you for it. He was an amazing father that showed me more love than I ever deserved. I love you Daddy.

A donation page is available in my bio for funeral expenses. Any close friends whom would like to speak at his funeral, please message me on Instagram Travis_Orndorff.

-Travis Orndorff

It was reported last week that Travis took his father out of a medical facility so he could spend his remaining days at home. This is heartbreaking news as the pro wrestling world lost a legend.

One of Hulk Hogan’s greatest opponents, Mr. Wonderful carved out a spot in pro wrestling history that will always be remembered. He was also a part of the first main event in WrestleMania history as Hulk Hogan and Mr. T defeated Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper.

Our thoughts are with Paul Orndorff’s family and friends during this incredibly sad time. RIP, Mr. Wonderful.
