WWE concocted a list of the greatest tag teams of all time. It seems that New Day topped their list and then fans had a lot of opinions about that. This was not lost in the other company either.
Big E fired off a tweet following WWE unveiling their list to fans. He said that many will disagree with New Day as the best tag team, but he is still “massively grateful” for Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods being by his side as they journeyed down the road.
I know many will disagree with the list but being named the greatest tag team of all time makes me reflect on our journey. I’m massively grateful for @TrueKofi & @AustinCreedWins. I’m thankful we bet on ourselves & were unafraid to pursue a path that felt right for us.
The Young Bucks took a while to let that tweet marinate before firing off a reply. In a pretty direct parody, the Young Bucks twitter account sent out anther tweet saying how “massively grateful” they are for themselves.
We know many will disagree with the list but being named the greatest tag team of all time makes us reflect on our journey. We’re massively grateful for us. We’re thankful we bet on ourselves & were unafraid to pursue a path that felt right for us.
The New Day signed massive WWE contracts in 2019 for the same length and amount, because they wanted to show solidarity. Odds are they won’t be getting a chance to prove they’re better than the Young Bucks in the ring. At least fans have social media to watch this banter unfold even if we’re not getting a match out of it.
