Aleister Black a remarkable time in NXT as he became the NXT Champion and had several excellent matches. However, when he was called up to the main roster, Aleister Black largely floundered.

Aleister Black had been absent from WWE television for quite a few months as creative had no plans for him. Despite making a return on Friday Night Smackdown back in May and starting a new feud with Big E, Black was released by WWE.

Aleister Black has previously detailed how the last two years of his time in WWE were like a slow death and he had a lot of trouble dealing with WWE Creative on numerous aspects. After his AEW debut, he now goes by the name Malakai Black.

While speaking to Drinks With Johnny, Malakai Black talked about his Aleister Black Character in WWE. Black wrote off his time in WWE as one bad manic episode for his character.

What you’re going to see is what happened to Tommy End during the 4 years that Aleister Black was on TV. The base of my character has always been that Tommy End was possessed by the devil and turned into Aleister Black. So what we’re basically saying is that Aleister Black was a manic episode of Tommy End. So nothing if it actually happened, but in his mind everything happened.

I’m also moving away from Tommy End for a while. I just wanted to get rid of my WB name for a while. I’m creating a specific IP for something else. You will know it when it happens because it will most likely happen on the same day.”

With Malakai Black now finally in AEW, it seems his first feud will be with Cody Rhodes. We will have to see how Malakai Black’s character will flourish in the company.
