Paul Heyman is Special Counsel for the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, on Friday Night SmackDown, and that is the only place fans will get to see him for now. The former head honcho of ECW was on Talking Smack every week, but that time is over for him.
It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Heyman’s move from Talking Smack is a permanent one. Pat McAfee will be replacing Heyman from this point on.
Paul Heyman is now off Talking Smack. Pat McAfee and Kayla Braxton did the show this past week. We’re told the change is permanent and not a one week thing, but of course, everything can change tomorrow in WWE.
It was noted that there was “no real reason” to move Paul Heyman off Talking Smack, except to keep Heyman’s interplay with Superstars on SmackDown. This is an interesting move, because Heyman’s angles with Superstars on Talking Smack often built toward those matches in a great way and it sometimes created a viral video in the process.
Paul Heyman is also fueling rumors about Brock Lesnar’s return. If The Beast Incarnate came back to WWE then that would create another role for Heyman to play as his Advocate. It should be important to note that there is no report that will happen, but fans also never know what kind of deal Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar are working on until it’s too late.
