MJF and Sammy Guevara tore the house down with their match on AEW Dynamite last week. They bid Daily’s Place farewell in a big way, and tons of fans tuned in at home as well. That impressive amount of attention doesn’t surprise the Salt of the Earth too much.
MJF vs Sammy Guevara brought in around 858,000 viewers according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As the match progressed, even more fans tuned in to reach around 962k by the end of the match. This number also included the video package they played at the end of the night.
The intros and beginning of MJF vs. Sammy Guevara did 858,000 viewers at 449,000 in 18-49.
The bulk of MJF vs. Guevara and the 15 months in Jacksonville video did 962,000 viewers and 517,000 in 18-49. This quarter was the high point in viewers and every major demo.
When MJF saw this stat tweeted out to him, he wasn’t surprised. In fact, he tweeted out a photo of himself looking rather unamused while wearing a crown along with a caption saying: “This is my shocked face.”
MJF and Sammy Guevara’s match did not end the way a lot of fans probably wanted it to, but they are far from finished with each other. AEW is obviously looking at MJF and Guevara as huge stars for years to come.
