Malakai Black Reveals Why He Signed With AEW

Aleister Black’s time in NXT was certainly a memorable one, which featured him winning the NXT Championship and competing at the highest level against the likes of Andrade and Johnny Gargano

Unfortunately for him, his main roster run was the exact opposite and left a lot to be desired. For a very long hiatus from WWE television, Black made his return to WWE television, but to no avail as he was subsequently released by WWE last month.

However, Aleister Black shocked the pro wrestling world when he made his debut on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. After making his shocking appearance, he attacked both Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson. He now goes by the name Malakai Black.

While speaking on a Twitch stream, Malakai Black explained why he decided to sign with AEW. Ultimately he signed with the company as it was the right choice for his career and family.

“It was the right move to make for me, my family, my career, [and] the state of mind I’m in. It’s just a really good company. I can’t say enough good things about it. They have a bright future. There are a lot of dedicated people and I’m really glad to be part of it.”

Malakai Black is certainly glad to call AEW his new home now and we will have to wait and see how he will be booked in the company.
