Pro wrestling legend Sting shocked the world when he made his debut in AEW last year in December. Since then he has been featured heavily on AEW television being paired up with Darby Allin.

Sting made a name for himself in WCW, especially in his Crow persona. However, before that, Sting had his surfer look which saw him donning bleach blonde hair and a highly energetic persona. He would ultimately get rid of it and now the reason for it has been revealed.

While speaking on the 83 Weeks Podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff stated that Sting got rid of the surfer look as he wanted to become an actor and land movie and television roles.

“[Sting] wanted to do movies. I was the executive producer of Stings’ very first movie called The Real Reason Men Commit Crimes. I put the deal together and made it happen with Turner and funded it. Sting was taking acting lessons right around this time and working in that direction. Sting made up his mind, he didn’t want that blonde hair because you can’t get a movie, you can’t get a T.V. role with that look so he wanted more versatility.”

Sting will remain one of the mainstays of AEW television for a long time as he will undoubtedly stick with the company for years and end his career in AEW.
