WWE Hall Of Famer Lita is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of women’s wrestling in the pro wrestling world as she paved the way for future generations of female pro wrestlers.

Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa squared off against each other in an unsanctioned Lights Out match as they took each other to the limit and put on a match that truly elevated both competitors and the AEW women’s division as a whole.

While speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Lita talked about the iconic match between Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker and stated that there’s no counterargument for it being an awesome match.

”I did [watch it], not initially. But holy s–t, right? It was insane. It was great that they got that spotlight. But you need a moment that brings you up from a wrestler that people have heard about to [someone] that knocks your stock up. I think Thunder Rosa won the match, but it’s one of those that’s just like, it doesn’t matter. They just, like, tore the house down. There’s no counterpoint or counterargument. That was an awesome match! They fully went for it: not for gender or amount of time in the business. They went for it and delivered. It was crazy.”

The match certainly made the AEW women’s division become more noticed by fans and since then the division has been receiving more focus, but there is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to how the division is presented.
