WWE went on a firing spree yesterday after President Nick Khan said during a meeting eariler that day that the company needs to cut more people. By the end of the day over a dozen people lost their jobs.

205 Live was hit very hard with those releases. Many of the performers that were released had been with 205 Live for a long time, but they were likely not leaving the brand either. The company has also changed their focus as of late when it comes to the kind of people they are scouting for. They want younger and bigger guys once again.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that it’s likely that WWE was cutting a lot of the older 205 Live guys because WWE has changed the idea of what kind of Superstars they are looking for to help when “business goes bad.”

Whenever that happens you know Vince is always going to go back to his intuition that they need bigger guys and the younger guys is something that they probably do need to focus on. One of the big problems is that they have no young guys.

Nick Khan was very open about his willingness to take any heat over the recent wave of releases. He invited that animosity, because he was the one really pushing for the cuts. The company dropped some talented veterans yesterday and we will have to see where they end up next. WWE is going to continue on as they look for new younger and bigger talent.
