Shayna Baszler had a very impactful debut on the main roster as she was immediately engaged with Becky Lynch, who was the RAW Women’s Champion at that time.

The two would eventually clash at WrestleMania 36 for the RAW Women’s Championship. However, despite being booked as a strong competitor, Shayna Baszler would lose to Becky Lynch at the Show of Shows and this simply did not sit well with fans.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, Shayna Baszler recalled how she was very angry at the whole situation due to COVID-19 preventing crowds from appearing at WrestleMania 36. Baszler also wondered if she would have defeated Becky Lynch for the title if there was a live crowd.

“I remember pulling up to the Performance Center for WrestleMania, sitting in my car, and feeling really angry. We’d worked too hard. I was so frustrated. Would things have been different with a crowd? Or did things change because of it? There are so many what-ifs, but you can’t sit and dwell on it.”

Becky Lynch had previously stated she pitched to drop the title to Shayna Baszler, but that never happened. Since then Baszler has been involved in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title picture with Nia Jax and recently feuded with Alexa Bliss on Monday Night RAW.
