Paul Wight (FKA The Big Show) and Mark Henry are two of the biggest stars to ever come out of WWE. They both made a name for themselves in the wrestling business and they attained a lot of success during their career.
A couple of months ago, Paul Wight made a surprise appearance on an episode of AEW Dynamite to reveal that he signed with the promotion and would be serving as a commentator on AEW Dark: Elevation. A couple of weeks after that, his friend and former in-ring foe Mark Henry also joined AEW and it was announced that he’d be working as a commentator for Rampage.
Speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Paul Wight stated that he and “The World’s Strongest Man” concealed the news about their respective AEW signings from each other.
“No, we both lied to each other. I lied to him [Mark Henry] before I went to AEW and then when he was coming to AEW, he lied to me about coming so, we both — the term in the business is called kayfabe and we’re old timers and we appreciate kayfabe and I mean, he did that years ago when he had on that pink salmon jacket and was gonna retire and dropped his boots at that stage and I was at home watching and I got all emotional and then he turned heel and got me all upset. If I had been there, I would have kicked his butt.“
Although Wight and Henry are mainly there to provide commentary for AEW shows, there’s a very high chance that they will make a return to the ring soon, and they could even end up battling each other down the line.
