AJ Styles has been touted as one of the best pro wrestlers by both fans and wrestlers alike. Styles continues to work at a high level despite growing older and continues to amaze fans.

Since his appearance in the 2016 Royal Rumble, AJ Styles has cemented himself as one of the best in-ring workers in all of WWE. He has had great matches with several big names in the company.

AJ Styles made a name for himself in the independent circuit, especially TNA and then NJPW before he made his way to WWE. While speaking on the latest episode of the WWE After the Bell podcast, AJ Styles talked about what Vince McMahon told him when he was first signed to the company.

AJ Styles revealed that Vince McMahon told him he needed a pitbull and that McMahon had many wrestlers who did the same thing that Styles did.

“My first match that I was in, not necessarily the Rumble but was in, Vince said, ‘I’ve got a lot of guys that can do what you do’, he said he needed a pitbull. That’s what I’ve always been, okay, I know this guy. He allowed me to be AJ Styles, I didn’t have to change anything about myself, how I worked. He basically just gave me permission to be the guy that I’ve always been.”

AJ Styles is currently one half of the RAW Tag Team Champions and became a grand slam champion after winning the titles at WrestleMania 37. Whenever Styles retires, it is a surety that he will be inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame due to all his contributions to the pro wrestling world.
