One of the most controversial storylines to ever be seen in WWE featured WWE Hall Of Famers Edge and Lita along with Matt Hardy. In real life, Lita was Hardy’s girlfriend and she cheated on him with Edge.

This ultimately led to Matt Hardy being livid and getting fired by WWE, only to be hired back so that he could feud with Edge and Lita back in 2005. The storyline truly blurred the lines between real life and kayfabe and it seems Lita is still feeling the effects of it to this day.

While speaking to Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Lita talked about the controversial storyline, where the WWE Hall Of Famer revealed that she almost quit WWE one month into the storyline.

“But I’ll tell you it was not easy. I mean, for sure, I almost quit a month [into] the whole love triangle. At that point, not only was it so hard, it was also out of shame. Like, I wasn’t proud of how I conducted myself. Yes, if I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would have handled myself differently. But I didn’t. So, I was like, make the bed, and you lie in it. And at that point, I was just like, I deserve all of these terrible things that everybody is saying to me. I deserve not wanting to wake up every morning. It was also difficult, as time passed, to let myself off the hook. The only way you can move forward with your life is, sure, you learn from your mistakes and keep going, but you have to forgive yourself.”

Edge and Matt Hardy eventually came to terms with what happened and made peace as well. For the most part, Lita has as well but she continues to be lambasted for what happened.
