Keith Lee entered WWE NXT as the Limitless one and an NXT Title reign came Lee’s way before he exited to make a name for himself on the main roster. Now WWE is having issues with trademarking that name.

According to a report from Heel By Nature, Keith Lee is facing some problems with trademarking his name for usage in pro wrestling. He filed for an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in December.

On June 21st, Lee’s attorney was sent a notice that there are two issues trademarking Keith Lee’s name. WWE already has a pending application on the name.

“a mark in a prior-filed pending application may present a bar to registration of applicant’s mark.”

“The filing date of pending U.S. Application Serial No. 88594009  precedes applicant’s filing date.”

In Keith Lee’s application, he included several screenshots from websites dating back to 2008 showing that he has used that name in pro wrestling. The trademark office believes that the screenshots only identifies the name of a specific person, and now “function as a service mark to identify and distinguish” specific services.

Keith Lee’s trademark was also filed under the entertainment service, and he included advertisements and posters showing him working indie events. Right now they are still awaiting some kind of resolution.

Lee has remained off WWE television for months. He posted a note saying that he wants to tell his story to educate others, but he is not allowed to do that. At this point, we have no idea what is going on with him. This latest update must be frustrating for him to hear.
