Ever since Matt Riddle signed with WWE, he has been one of the mainstays of WWE television, be it in NXT or the main roster. His in-ring skills is one of best in the company and he already has a good fan following.

Before making a name for himself in the pro wrestling industry, Matt Riddle worked in the world of MMA and had a solid run in the sport until he was fired by the UFC in 2013 after repeatedly failing drug tests for marijuana in 2013.

While speaking to WWE Deutschland on IGTV, Matt Riddle talked about reigniting his love for professional wrestling after his UFC departure. Matt Riddle revealed that WrestleMania 30 in 2014 is what made him decide Riddle wanted to get into WWE, particularly two moments, which were Brock Lesnar ending The Undertaker’s streak and Daniel Bryan winning the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles at the event.

“Also, I’ll be honest, I saw Brock Lesnar beat the streak of The Undertaker. I was like, ‘I should probably get into WWE.’ That same night, Daniel Bryan became a double champion, I believe against Triple H and Batista. It was a big night for me. That was when all the MMA stuff was happening with me. I was happy with the WWE and I also saw a resurgence in pro wrestling.

Matt Riddle is currently paired up with Randy Orton and the odd pairing of the two is certainly a hit with fans as they are really liking the two’s dynamic. We will have to see if the two will challenge for the RAW Tag Team Titles eventually.
