WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus is undoubtedly one of the most popular female WWE Superstars in the history of the company and truly set the stage for women’s wrestling in general.
Prior to Trish Stratus and Lita tearing it up in the ring and redefining what it meant to be a female performer in WWE back in the day, female WWE talents were seen as mere eye candy.
While speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, Trish Stratus recalled a conversation she had with The Rock, where he told Stratus that she could become the female version of him.
“But also you have to remember this was a time where there wasn’t really women doing it. So you wouldn’t be like ‘that’s what I want to do.’ I maybe could look to The Rock and say ‘that’s what I want to do. And is that realistic? I’m not sure, because it’s seems like it’s never really been done so far.’ Then I remember The Rock said to me one day ‘you know, you can be the female Rock.’ And I was like ‘oh my god. Okay, I’m going to do that. Yes.’”
The Rock’s advice certainly inspired her to push herself and reach a level she had never reached before and it ultimately paid back in dividends.
